Serial Spotlight: Sky King!

"Out of the clear blue of the western sky comes... Sky King!"

Hello, folks! For this week's serial spotlight we shine a light on the flying cowboy, Sky King! An adventure serial that aired from 1951 to 1962. The star of the show was Schuyler (Sky) King (that was his name!) and a constant sidekick was his niece Penny, who was always included in his adventures. Every episode starts with Sky flying real close overhead in his Cessna twin engine plane, Songbird. And each adventure always includes Sky flying his plane to fight crime or otherwise help out people. Part of the fun is seeing all the creative things Sky can do with his plane. There was even one episode where some dastardly guy forced him to fly the Songbird on ten minutes of gas, hoping he would crash. Of course Sky is the man when it comes to flying, so he figures out a way to fly it, land and live! Sky lived at "Flying Crown Ranch" which had a cool crown with wings logo that he even wears on his cowboy handkerchief tie!

Now you can watch 64 episodes of Sky King, available to watch online in streaming Windows Media format at Americanflyers.net! (Although the "Sky King Detecto-Microscope" might not still be available.)
