Star Trek. The Original. Remastered. Tonight.

After much research, Phil discovered that the newly remastered and CG-enhanced episodes of the original Star Trek are starting tonight with Balance of Terror (follow the link for a preview!). Check your local listings, but it should be airing on the CW network.

If you're in San Francisco, like we are, it's going to be premiering at 11pm on Channel 44 (Cable 12). It seems like the CW is trying to bury the show by giving it really odd hours. You've gotta stay alert if you want to watch this series. Here all that TVGuide.com is telling me so far:

Balance of Terror - Sat, Sep 17, 11pm
Miri - Mon, Sep 18, 12am (so I guess this is Sunday night)
Devil in the Dark - Mon, Sep 25 12am (Sunday night again?)

The Resistance

Sci-Fi is posting ten original 4-minute episodes of Battlestar Galactica: The Resistance which will serve to bridge the gap between Season 2 and 3. A new segment will be posted every Tuesday and Thursday at midnight (ET) up until the season 3 Premiere on October 6th.

There's ten of them at four minutes each, and 40-minutes is about as long as each of the existing episodes are. Is "The Resistance" eventually going to be reshown on tv as a single episode? Is this going to go down in the books as episode 0 of season 3? Will it appear on the season 3 DVD set in TV-resolution with it's own chapter? Soooo many questions!

Well, I just finished watching part 1, and no matter how they're planning on cataloging "The Resistance" for posterity, its great to see some new Battlestar content! Now I just have to figure out how to pass the time until Thursday...
